The following announcement was received from Lady
Carole Kelly wife of Bishop Ernest David Kelly.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I write to tell of the passing of my beloved
husband on Sunday 2nd August at 10.30 am. He has been quite sick of late and
in much pain, but his passing was quick at the end. I know that he will be
rejoicing to be with his precious Lord, but very sad to leave all his family. At
least he is now at peace.”

Bishop Kelly, a long time Anglican priest, was ordained in Manchester, England
and later relocated to Australia. He founded the Free Church of Australia and
was consecrated a bishop in Marshall, Virginia (USA) in 2002. His consecrators
were +Larry W. Johnson, Virginia; +Vincent Thakore, Georgia; +Melvin
Pickering, New Mexico; and +Pierre Toussaint, Haiti of the Anglican Church
International Communion. He was an active member of the College of Bishops
and last attended the College gathering in Atlanta, Georgia. He brought his
diocese into the ACIC soon after it was founded.

We of the Anglican Church of Virginia and of the Anglican Church International
Communion will miss our brother and pioneer who tirelessly worked to maintain
and build the traditional Anglican Faith. Archbishop Johnson at the news Bishop
Kelly’s death said,
“The church has lost a giant and I have lost a dear friend.
Our sincere condolences are extended to his widow, Carole, his children,
communicants and his entire Diocese. We who are the friends, brothers and
associates of +Ernest know that there are few men of courage willing to step
forth to engage evil but he was such a man. Against odds and distracters, he
fought the good fight and now has received his reward. Well done good and
faithful servant.”

Bishop Kelly’s funeral service was August 7, 2009. His age was the late sixties.
